加州理工學院將矽奈米線(silicon microwires)應用在太陽能電池上，發現可以吸收射入陽光85%的光譜，效率與傳統式矽晶圓相當，不過僅需前者1%的矽材料。論文發表於2月14日的Nature Materials。
