魏德聖︰人生就是不斷地冒險

Te-Sheng.
“At
worst,
you
fail.
That
is
nothing
compared
to
being
trapped
in
a
life
of
boredom
simply
because
you’re
afraid
to
pursue
your
interests.”
It
is
this
boldness
that
has
helped
Wei
create
one
movie
miracle
after
another.
「年輕時不要害怕冒險。最糟的情況就是失敗而已。比起只因害怕追求自己的興趣而陷入無聊人生的困境,那不算什麼。」電影導演魏德聖這麼說。就是這樣的勇敢幫助魏德聖創造出一個個電影奇蹟。
Wei
studied
electrical
engineering
in
school.
He
became
interested
in
making
movies
after
he
met
a
big
movie
fan
during
military
service.
Wei
worked
odd
jobs
for
two
years
before
he
finally
found
a
director
to
bring
him
into
the
business.
Working
his
way
up,
he
made
a
few
short
films
that
won
a
lot
of
praise.
Over
time,
he
became
more
and
more
certain
that
he
would
make
movies
for
a
living.
魏德聖在學校學的是電機工程。他在服兵役時認識一個狂熱的電影迷後對拍電影產生興趣。在終於找到一位導演帶他入行前,魏德聖打了兩年零工。他逐步晉升,也拍了幾部贏得許多好評的短片。久而久之,他愈來愈確定要以拍電影這行為生。

1997,
Wei
became
fascinated
with
the
Wushe
Incident
because
of
a
news
report.
He
read
up
on
the
subject,
wrote
the
script
for
Seediq
Bale,
and
later
made
a
five-minute
demo
with
NT$2
million.
He
hoped
the
demo
would
attract
investors
to
fund
the
film,
but
he
failed
to
raise
enough
money.
一九九七年,魏德聖因為一則新聞報導對「霧社事件」著迷。他仔細研究這題材,寫出《賽德克?巴萊》劇本,之後並花費兩百萬台幣拍攝五分鐘長的樣本片。他希望樣本片會吸引投資者提供拍片資金,不過他未能募得足夠的錢。
