Valentine’s Day is here, and romance is in the air. On this day devoted to love, couples date, dance, and dine—some even decide to get married. But we humans are not alone in our quest for that perfect someone. Here are five animal species that spend their lives together.
Lovebirds
The name says it all. Lovebirds are some of the most romantic creatures in the animal kingdom. When these adorable little parrots are ready to mate, they begin by courting each other. The female starts it off by ruffling her feathers, and then the male responds, nodding his head and doing a dance to charm her. Lovebirds mate for life, and for them, the romance lasts. They are known for cuddling and feeding each other, and if separated from each other, they will become depressed.
Butterfly Fish
Beautiful, elegant, and oh-so-romantic, butterfly fish lead solitary lives—until they meet their one true love. From the moment they couple up, butterfly fish do everything together, swimming and seeking food side by side. If they happen to lose sight of each other, they will take great risks to find one another again—even swim up over the top of the reef.
情人節到了，四處都感受得到浪漫氣息。在這個專屬愛情的日子，情侶們約會、跳舞和用餐——有些人甚至決定要結婚。但不是只有我們人類會尋覓完美的伴侶。這裡有五種動物物種會一輩子生活在一起。
情侶鸚鵡
這個名字說明了一切。情侶鸚鵡是動物界最浪漫的生物之一。當這些可愛的小鸚鵡準備要交配時，牠們會從討好彼此開始。雌鳥一開始會豎起羽毛，然後公鳥回應，會點頭和跳舞來吸引她。情侶鸚鵡終生只有一個伴侶，對牠們來說浪漫的愛會持續下去。牠們以會互相依偎和餵食而為人所知，如果彼此分開的話就會變得沮喪。
蝴蝶魚
美麗、優雅又超級浪漫的蝴蝶魚過著獨居的生活——直到遇見牠們的真愛。從牠們成為一對的那刻起，蝴蝶魚做每件事都在一起，一起游泳和覓食。如果碰巧看不到彼此，牠們會冒著極大的危險再次找到對方——即便是要往上游過暗礁上方。
