︱瓦西里．康丁斯基首度提出三個基本形狀與三原色之間的對應關係：三角形是黃色，方形是紅色，圓形是藍色。三原色對應圖形自此成了視覺語言的通用句型，也是包浩斯最具代表性的圖像。
︱「線」是在頁面上拖曳而過的「點」，「面」是線條移動留下的記錄。如今成為許多藝術設計靈感泉源的「點線面」，是康丁斯基在拆解各式圖像結構後，歸納而來的構圖基礎要件。
︱福萊德瑞克．福祿貝爾喚起大眾對於學前教育的重視，他發起的幼稚園運動促成了幼稚園的誕生與普及。他為基礎繪畫課程設計的網格練習，把複雜的視覺世界變成簡化的組件，最後成了表現二維設計的基本框架。
